In collaboration with Robosea, a world-leading company in underwater robotics, we founded the SUSTech-Robosea Joint Lab on Underwater Equipment. The lab will be jointly managed by the Robotics Institute at SUSTech, the Department of Ocean Science & Engineering, and the Robosea company. It is co-directed by Prof. Guangming Xie at Beijing University and Prof. Wei Zhang at SUSTech.

The joint lab aims to combine the strength of Robosea in fast prototyping underwater equipment with the strong research capabilities of SUSTech to develop the next generation world-leading underwater equipment for education, ocean-related research, and various civil and commercial applications. It will also provide a great nurturing platform for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in underwater robotics.
